Bollywood's Bald and the Beautiful
It's a classic case of hair today, gone tomorrow. In an industry where how you look matters deeply there are actors and actresses who don't mind shaving off their heads if their character demands it. Here's looking at the famous bald heads.
Sanjay Dutt
After Gulshan Grover, Sanjubaba is B-town's unofficial master at changing his looks. Buzz is that Munnabhai will go bald in Karan Johar's Agneepath remake. Before you think the actor will dutifully shave off the scalp, here's a catch: he'll wear a mask and will have his look styled by international make-up artist Robin Slater.
We've tried to imagine and create what the actor would look like if he went bald in the film.
Aamir Khan
Mr Perfectionist that he is, Aamir is a 'cut' above the rest. Literally.
When Ghajini demanded an almost bald look, the actor did not hesitate. He was suitably rewarded when the film turned to be one of the biggest hits of his career.

Nandita Das
It's unusual, at least in India, for women to shave off their heads. But when has Nandita Das walked the conventional path?
The feisty actress didn't think twice before sacrificing her luscious tresses for Deepa Mehta's controversial Water and admitted to laughing all the way while her anxious stylists sheared off her hair. Too bad the film's shooting had to be stopped, and the film did not get made with her in it.
Lisa Ray and Shabana Azmi
Like Nandita, Shabana Azmi went bald for the same film.
The film had to be shelved due to protests in India and Shabana was replaced by Seema Biswas who had to get the same look for her role as a widow.
The beautiful model Lisa Ray shaved her head as well, when she filled in for Nandita Das.
Kulbhushan Kharbanda
The devious Shakaal in Ramesh Sippy's Shaan, Kulbhushan's shining pate become symbolic of the 1980 flick.
Incidentally, Shakaal's character was based on Blofeld, writer Ian Fleming and director Kevin McClory's creation in the James Bond series.
With his outrageous costumes and malevolent laughter, the bald Shakaal went on to become an important villain in Bollywood's history.
