Bollywood stars mourned the demise of Pakistani ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan, who passed away this morning after enduring a long battle with several ailments.
Singer Ali Zafar tweeted: 'Mehdi Hassan moves on & lives forever. Leaving us with a legacy of music,magic,memories and so much more than words can describe.'
Singer Shreya Ghoshal tweeted: 'Mehdi Hassan sa'ab is no more. The voice, who made mny music lovers n lovers to find an expression of their heart's stories, is gone. R.I.P. Saddened beyond comprehension. Jagjit ji, now Mehdi Sa'ab. The voices who kept the legacy of ghazals alive and how, are gone.. This void can never be filled ever again.'
Music composer Shankar Mahadevan wrote: 'RIP #Mehdi Hassan saab, huge loss to the world of music...your Voice is immortal though.'
Actor Anupam Kher is also saddened to hear about his demise. 'Very saddened to hear about my fav Gazal Singer Mehdi Hassan's demise. As a student had gate crashed into Pak Embassy to listen to him. RIP,' he tweeted.
Madhur Bhandarkar wrote: 'Emperor of ghazals no more... R.I.P Mehdi Hassan... You will be missed sorely!'
Manoj Bajpayee tweeted: 'Ghazal king one of my favourites mehandi saab passed away.may his soul rest in peace!'

According to a report published in a tabloid, the Central Board of Film Certification is still to clear Anurag Kashyap's much anticipated film Gangs of Wasseypur for viewing.
But Kashyap denied the reports and said that the movie has been cleared. 'For the record there is no censor trouble on Wasseypur.. it's been cleared..' the director updated.
Meanwhile, the promotions for the film have started. 'Good morning!off to radio mirchi wasseypur promotional tour takes off,' actor Manoj Bajpayee tweeted.
Gangs of Wasseypur is releasing on June 22.
After nearly three years, Saurabh Shukla's I M 24 is all set for a release.
Actor Ranvir Shorey, who stars in the film, shared the trailer of the film.
Directed by Shukla, the film is a comedy that tells a story a 42-year-old balding writer named Shubendu who falls in love with a 22 year old beauty queen and he is forced to lie about his age.
I M 24 also stars Rajat Kapoor, Manjari Phadnis, Neha Dhupia and Lilette Dubey and is expected to release in July.

While Shah Rukh Khan with his wife Gauri, Anushka Sharma, and Katrina Kaif are in London to shoot Yash Chopra's untitled film, Bipasha Basu is shooting for her Hollywood film Singularity.

Meanwhile, Kunal Khemmu is visiting the city for the first time. 'Off to london for the first time- I believe its raining there too, so should feel very much at home:)' he wrote.
His girlfriend Soha Ali Khan is also in London. 'Back in bombay for a few precious hours. SBGR done. I need to unpack and re-pack my suitcase - off to London! The pound-rupee rate is maaad!' she tweeted.
