PIX: Katrina's item number for Salman

In a first, Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan wil be sharing screen space after a long time in the title song of Salman's upcoming film Bodyguard.

The item song Aaya re aaya bodyguard was shot at Film City in Goregaon, a western Mumbai suburb. 

On the sets, Katrina was spotted rigorously rehearsing her steps for the song (maybe she'll outdo herself this time!).

Sources claim that it was co-producer Atul Agnihotri and wife Alvira's idea, who are close to Katrina, to ask her to do an item number for the film and Katrina readily agreed.

The shoot went smoothly and onlookers said the chemistry between the two was crackling, their relationship history notwithstanding.

In another first, Salman's real life bodyguard Shera, who unveiled the film's promo a while ago, makes his screen debut with this item song and will be seen shaking a leg with Salman and Katrina.

Since Shera was facing the camera for the first time, he was a bit nervous during the song. But his 'co-stars' came to the rescue, trying to make him comfortable. Salman even helped him rehearse his dance moves.

"Yes, I was a bit nervous but Bhai (Salman) and Katrina were very supportive. I can't thank him enough for the opportunity he has given me," says Shera, whose real name is Gurmeet Singh.

Directed by Siddique, Bodyguard is a remake of the director's 2010 Malayalam film of the same name.

After Wanted and Dabangg, Salman's Bodyguard will be his third film to release on Eid. It will be out on August 31.
