Birthday Special: Arjun Rampal's History of HOTNESS!
Last updated on: November 26, 2012 13:01 IST
Ever since he proudly paraded his lean torso in the music video of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's remixed version of Kinna sona tainu by Bally Sagoo, Arjun Rampal's sex appeal remains undisputed. That was nearly two decades ago but the model-turned-actor continues to look as mesmeric as ever.
With his incredibly chiseled features, deep baritone and nimble elegance, Rampal is the kind glossies worship and pin-ups endorse.
He might not be exactly the best actors around but his suave looks and composed style make him a hit with the crowds in and outside the industry. The Jabalpur born, with one of the most stable celebrity marriages to supermodel Mehr Jessia (with whom he has two lovely daughters, Mahikaa and Myra) turns a fabulous 40 today.
Here's a chronicling the man's history of hotness.
The Cover Boy
If those abs, pack count notwithstanding, don't give the Khans, Kapoors and Kumars a run for their money, nothing will.
How come we don't see this avatar of Rampal so often on screen?
Moksh-filled beginnings

Although his first release was Rajiv Rai's most embarrassing effort at romance -- Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat, the film he originally signed up as his debut was the late cinematographer-turned-filmmaker's stylish Moksh, which came out a few months after.
The film tanked but AR looked his best ever.

You know you have arrived when a perfume is launched after you.
Following the likes of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal's turn came early this year with Alive, produced by Drom Fragrances International.
Whatever the smell, the star sure looks intensely hot in its striking print ads.

As the resentful Joseph 'Joe' Mascarenhas in Abhishek Kapoor's Rock On!!, the actor proved he has the acting chops to pull off a serious role.
And still look like a glamorous, crowd-pulling, singing sensation/guitarist while at it.
Bollywood's Best Dressed!

GQ magazine recently voted Arjun Rampal as one of the consistently best dressed male stars of Bollywood.
With that level of sophistication and sharp dressing, this comes as no surprise.

It may have been to prep up for a role as a shady thug in Ek Ajnabee.
But few can work up a lime green ganjee, fluroscent wrist bands, trendy bandana and overwhelming number of tattoos like Mr Rampal.
Retro bad boy!

The actor channels the likes of Ranjeet in the 1970s with leather coats and thin moustache to recreate the over- the-top era of Hindi films to play a nasty mastermind in the body of a smooth-talking bloke in Farah Khan's reincarnation bonanza.
No wonder Deepika Padukone picks him over romance icon Shah Rukh Khan!
Wow.One?

Ra.One may have been a letdown but not its titular hero.
Arjun Rampal oozes never-before confidence and coolness (and a super sculpted physique) as the ruthless, relentless and raging software program of SRK's costliest creation.
Desi dude

He may have done the modern-day neta bit more successfully as Prithviraj in Raajneeti but it's his obsessive, intellectual filmmaker look in The Last Lear that we find so darn tempting.
This guy should stock his wardrobe with ethnic clothes. Agree?
Self-explanatory!

Returning to his ramp model roots is child's play for the still-very-much-got-it hunk.
And this picture says it all.
