Tributes have also poured in from the singer's contemporaries. While British comedian Russell Brand wrote a heart-warming post about her on his website, singer MIA dedicated a song to Amy.
The caricature here hangs off a street artist panel, during 'Black Week' (Semana Negra) in Gijon, northern Spain. 'Black Week' is a crime fiction festival that brings together the most important writers of the genre in North Spain.

The singer's family is reportedly distraught with this loss. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, was on his way home from London when he heard that his daughter had died.
