PIX: Aishwarya's fashionable appearances in 2011

This year has been quite eventful for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The 38-year-old actress wowed everyone at the Cannes Film Festival, graced magazine covers in sensational outfits, was closely watched during her pregnancy whenever she stepped out, and then gave birth to her baby girl.

Oscar glory

The actress took to the Oscar red carpet in a shimmery Armani Prive gown as she attended the Academy Awards with hubby Abhishek Bachchan in February.

The actress chose another Armani Prive gown for the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The similarity ended right there.

Ditching her conservative approach to red carpet style, Aishwarya ventured in new territory with this fashion-forward gown and stole hearts.

Ash outdid herself with this gorgeous gown from Lebanese designer Elie Saab for another Cannes appearance.

The actress went the casual route for Heroine's photocall at Cannes in a silk Lanvin trench dress and absolutely nailed the look.

It was refreshing to see Ash do such fabulous looks one after another.

Ash's good run with clothes followed her back home as she attended Shah Rukh Khan's bash for Karan Johar's birthday later in May.

She wore a daisy gold dress from an Australian designer to the bash.

The actress flaunted her youthful looks in a Baywatch-style neckline as she rocked the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine before jetting off to Cannes.

Aishwarya graced the cover of Vogue magaine in a very dramatic outfit and carried it off.

The dramatic feathered shoulders and just a hint of cleavage made the cover sensational.

The actress looked radiant in Indian finery during her godh bharai (baby shower) ceremony in October.

While hubby Abhishek never left her side, the mum was showered with gifts and blessings.

A heavily-pregnant Ash made appearances for poojas and jagrans along with the Bachchans during the holy period of Navratras this year.

She took special care to hide her baby bump.

The actress wore a garish Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla outfit for the designers' bash a few days before she went into labour.

A good attempt to camouflage her belly, the dress was quite over the top.
