The The 46-year-old composer tweeted, 'Oscar sangamam - if you are watching the Oscars live, catch our Oscar superband headed by Hans Zimmer perform tonight.'
He also tweeted a picture as he wrote, 'Our Oscar superband.'
Every year the Oscars initiates a debate among the Indian celluloid lovers that why we don't have a set of awards that matters.
With several movie critics comparing Oscars to our Indian awards, Abhishek Bachchan tweeted: 'Interesting to see/read a lot of the media comparing the Oscars to our Indian awards. Most seem to think that we need to improve... raise our standards.... Wait a minute... Aren't most of OUR awards run and held by media houses! Take the initiative, we shall follow!!'
Film journalist Rajeev Masand wrote: 'At Bollywood awards, it's often hard to find a second deserving hopeful...although they will nominate 4 others they want to please!'
But Masand's tweet didn't go well with director Sujoy Ghosh and he replied: '@RajeevMasand c'mon man.. we are not that bad also :) kuch toh izzat de..'

Whereas actor Gaurav Kapur was a light mood and shared a joke: 'If this was an Indian award show, would've ended with Meryl streep doing an Item number from Iron Lady!'
Bollywood stars congratulated the Indian Hockey Team who secured a berth in London Olympics for 8-1 victory over France on Sunday.
Deepika Padukone tweeted: 'Indian Hockey Team qualifies for the Olympics! Congratulations guys!!!'
Bipasha Basu wrote: 'Congrats to the Indian Hockey Team fr qualifying fr London Olympics:)'

Karan Johar is currently in Kashmir a love song for his upcoming directorial venture, Student Of The Year in Kashmir with choreographer Farah Khan.
