Vidya Balan started the year on a high.
After winning a strew of awards, including the National Award, for The Dirty Picture, the actress seems to have impressed yet again with Kahaani. Her new film is getting rave reviews from critics and the industry.
Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar even compared her to Meryl Streep: 'If a see 'Meryl Streep's' name in a movie credit; I will watch the film. For certain. Ditto that now for Vidya Balan #Kahaani.'
Gul Panag was quick to agree: '@atulkasbekar Agree. Vidya is our answer to Meryl Streep'
Vishal Dadlani is certain that Balan will win another National Award for Kahaani next year. 'Vidya Balan wins the National Award for The Dirty Picture! NICE! More power to the real woman! Another, next year, for KAHAANI! Guaranteed!' he wrote.
Jackky Bhagnani tweeted: 'Just saw kahani what a brilliant film hats of to vidya balan she has done it again n my dear friend sujoy ghosh infact everyone was superb.'
Shah Rukh Khan wished the entire team. '@sujoy_g all the best sujoy and the team of kahaani. Korbo...lorbo....jeetbo.....inshallah allah,' he updated.
Raveena Tandon celebrated Holi with family and friends. 'Hope all had a safe holi!played with kids and friends without colors but,water balloons pichkaris,drenched and no phone so couldn't wish all,' she wrote.
So did Amitabh Bachchan. 'A modest Holi among family and a few friends .. calm, not too much, and much chatter .. the evening with 'HomeLand' .. so riveting !' he updated.
Karan Johar, on the other hand, doesn't celebrate the festival. Here's why: 'i was 10 and someone threw a rotten egg at me on holi!!!! That was one of my last happy holi's'...i wish you colour and an egg free holi!!!'

Salman Khan has started filming for Dabangg 2; his heroine Sonakshi Sinha will join the team on March 18. Arbaaz Khan will be making his debut as a director.

Upon hearing the news of I AM directed by Onir winning two National Awards, Juhi Chawla took her excitement to Twitter and expressed her gratitude.
She tweeted: 'Siiiimppllyyy super duper news !!!! IAM wins 2 National awards !!!!! Am just so happy !!! For the film !! For Onir !!for the belief !!! Maaannnnnyyyy congratulations to aaallllll the producers ... Worldwide... Of the film IAM ......!!! And maannnyyyy heartfelt congratulations to Vidya for her national award!!! The actress couldn't believe their win. 'Gosh !! It's still sinking into my head ... IAM is the Best Hindi Film ... !!!I want to pinch myself ..just make sure it's not a dream !!!! After the recent release of Jodi Breakers, R Madhavan has decided to go on a six month sabbatical. 'Finally done. Last day of shoot for the next 6 months.Finally a break after 12 years. Am off for that much delayed and deserved Sabbatical,' he updated.
The reason being is Madhavan's poor health. He had earlier tweeted that he wasn't signing a film due to health reasons: 'Heyy No folks. I have no confirmed any film now. Have to get my knee treated first and get back in super shape. Then I will decide.'
