Boy sees a girl, boy falls for girl but there are insurmountable problems. Sounds familiar? Well, be ready for another um, Ready, the Telugu film about love.

Chandu [Ram] belongs to a joint family consisting of three brothers -- Raghupati [Nasser] Raghava [Tanikella Bharani] and Rajaram -- and a sister Swarajyam. Chandu is at the fag end of his engineering course in Bellary when he decides to help his cousin [Tamanna] elope with her lover [Navadeep], a 'crime' for which the family does not forgive him.

Meanwhile, Chandu falls for Pooja [Genelia] after catching sight of her in a car. Somehow, with the help of his friends he abducts her from her house without knowing her identity. Soon after, a hunt for the girl is launched, which leads to a chase and a plan to get into Chandu's house.

The film reminds you of several Hindi films as well as a few Telugu ones. Director Srinu Vytla has incorporated a bit of each to write his screenplay, which has the stereotype warring brothers, their sons and their henchmen, numerous songs and dances, and comedians.

While the first half of the movie is fast paced, the second half drags. Vytla has even Ram as Krrish and Spiderman and gizmos to woo the kids.

Essentially Vytla has created a patchwork which is seamlessly joined but not of a new design barring a scene or two. The humour infused does induce a few laughs. Brahmanandam, particularly evokes much laughter.

What makes this old wine in a new bottle story bearable is the performance of the lead pair -- Ram and Genelia -- who impart a youthful feel with their presence. Ram flexes his muscles and shakes his legs well and is totally at ease. Peppy Genelia too lights up the screen. The rest of the cast Chandra Mohan, Nasser, Bharani, Brahmanandam, Kota and Sunil do what is required of them.

Music by Devisriprasad has a youthful flavour. The choreography and picturisation of a few songs are fairly good. The lyrics too are in sync with the film's youthful zest and spirit.

Ready, is in essence, a love story very much within the formulaic pattern. Watch it for the cute pairing of Ram and Genelia.
