Question: Where does one get frivolousness, foolishness and folly?
Answer: A three-hour span of ennui triggering celluloid futility raised to the power of three called Indralogathil Na Azhagappan.
Why three? Well, there is Vadivelu, Vadivelu and Vadivelu -- playing hero, villain and a little bit of nothing.
It is all about a village idiot-bumpkin-cum-drama-actor (Vadivelu), who breaks into song and silliness with Yamini Sharma. He gets cursed by the lord of this fantasyland (Vadivelu again) for attempting to undo the God of Death (another Vadivelu).
In between all this, Shriya shakes slim statistics to start a stampede of sorts amongst the wolf whistlers in the audience. Strangely, her item number is the saving grace of the film -- though its lyrics are a bit out place.
Vadivelu rants, raves, roars, rumbles recklessly preaching corny piffle.
There are six songs in the movie -- including one for the heavenly minstrel Narada (Nasser) who looks as natural during the proceedings as hamming singer inside a library for the speech impaired.
Thambi Ramiah is credited to have directed the movie, but it appears as though the actors were given a freehand during the shooting, as they did what they pleased.
The sets (touted as the movie's biggest draw) are very loud.
Fans of Vadivelu began groaning halfway through the movie and quite a few of them walked out 30 minutes before the climax.
