Srikanth Srinivasa feels Romeo is watchable for its lighter moments.
Romeo starring Ganesh and Bhavana Menon is a fun film that can safely be watched by the whole family although there is no novelty as such in the subject or its presentation.
For the first time Comedy Time Ganesh is paired with Bhavana.
The film begins with Ganesh (Ganesh) falling for Shruthi (Bhavana Menon) when he attends a job interview. Once he joins the company, Ganesh begins working under Shruthi. Ganesh lies about his status and his father's connections.
Shruthi believes him and they get married. Shruthi wants Ganesh to take her to one of the big houses that he 'owns'. But, Ganesh takes his newly wedded wife to his small house and this infuriates Shruthi.
She leaves him and files for divorce. Ganesh realises his mistake of lying to his wife and begins life afresh. He rises up the ladder and becomes the assistant manager of a bank. Ganesh and Shruti meet again but are unable to break the ice immediately.
Ganesh is his usual self, full of zest. He does justice to his role but badly needs a makeover in terms of hairstyle, dress sense and physique.
Bhavana Menon looks cute as the demure and at the same time demanding, wife. She has also played her role commendably and with ease.
Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila are hilarious. Sudha Belawadi as Ganesh's mother is seen in an unusual role and has acquitted herself quite well.
The first half is hilarious, but the second half is a bit slow and has only one song to give you the musical zing. Arjun Janya has scored some good songs. Shreya Ghoshal's Alochane is a soft and lilting number.
Director Sekar has improved tremendously from his earlier films and looks promising with this film although there's nothing particularly novel in Romeo. It's watchable for its lighter moments.
