Shruti Indira Lakshminarayana feels that Krishnan Marriage Story lacks the romantic punch. Post YOUR reviews here! It was a wedding that the entire Kannada film fraternity was looking forward to. So, did Ajai Rao aka Krishna, and his joint family, arrive in style with band baaja and baraat? Krishnan Marriage Story got off to a good start. Krishna (Ajai) is an advertising professional. His close knit family means the world to him and to make them happy he agrees to get married and chooses the chirpy Kushi (Nidhi Subbaiah) who fits in well with the family.
Things are set for the happily ever after ending. Director and writer Nutan Umesh keeps things light-hearted up to this point, with the lively family's antics lending themselves
naturally to humour. In the second half of the film, though, the romance is in for some rough weather. Some of our story writers have got into the habit of spoiling the romantic plot in the second half and Krishnan Marriage Story is no exception. The story becomes predictable and formulaic.
It doesn't help that Ajai fails to show the energy and vivaciousness required of his character. Nidhi, though, is convincing as his bubbly wife. Chandru, Vinaya Prasad and the entire supporting cast also keep the film going. The only memorable song is Nidde bandilla... but there's some good camera work by Shekar Chandra.
Nutan's maiden effort has a perfect beginning. Had he retained the charm of the first half, Krishnan Marriage Story would have been the big fat Indian wedding that every family in town would want to attend!
