The Telugu film Eemaindi Ee Vela explores the fragility of marriage and relationships. However, director Sampath Nandi depicts things in a lopsided manner that makes the movie shady.
The film opens with Seenu (Varun Sandesh) meeting Nimisha (debutante Nisha Shah) and Avantika (newcomer Nisha Aggarwal) meeting Yuva (Shashank) for their second marriages.
What unfolds is a flashback of the lives of Srinu and Avantika as the two talk about their past relationships. Seenu, originally from Warangal, lives in Hyderabad while Avantika comes from Bapatla (coastal Andhra Pradesh) to Hyderabad to pursue a software course. Avantika meets Seenu and falls in love. They marry against their parents' wishes, but don't find a happily ever after. They split up and try to take another chance at marriage.
The film meanders through some horrible sequences. The director has gone overboard in the story delineation, making it an awful and embarrassing film. The fragility of human relationships and marriage is treated shoddily and appallingly.
Varun Sandesh plays the cool guy well, but he should have given a second thought before signing such a film. He made a good beginning with Sekhar Kammula's Happy Days and did a decent Kotha Bangaru Lokam and Evaraina Epudaina, but his script calculations seem to have gone awry.
Nisha, sister of Kajal Aggarwal, is pretty and has talent, but her choice of debut is dreadful.
Pragati plays Seenu's mother and utters some of the meaningful lines in the film. Vennela Kishore appears jaded.
Not much about the crew and cast is worth talking about. And neither is the film, which puts forth an unbalanced moralistic view.
