The Kannada film Yogi starring Yogish, better known as Loose Maada has a predictable story line.
Director Udaya Prakash has added Udaya to his name, but nothing new to the film. His first film Yamalokadhalli Veerappan at least had a fantasy story line, but his second venture has nothing but the age old commercial ingredients in it. It makes you wonder whether he ever wrote a proper script for the film.
Sample this: Yogi works for Babu, a local don falls. He falls for the charms of Mala, who has a problem which she wants Yogi to fix. Meanwhile Yogi is on the hit list of a Mumbai don KK who is now in police custody. KK designs a plan where an enraged and confused Yogi kills his own Boss. Will Yogi succeed in getting his lover? Watch the film to know the answer if you have nothing better to do.
Yogi tries every trick to please his fans. His dialogue delivery is good, especially the punch lines but he needs to do some serious thinking on his choice of films.
Biyanka goes the glam way with songs showing lots of skin. Shirin, on the other hand, looks too tired. Suchayeendra Prasad's dialogue delivery is good, but he looks bored throughout the film. Praveen and Neenasam Aswath are okay.
Emil's music composition the highlight of the film. Camera work is good too.
All in all Yogi is just an ordinary and predictable fare that is neither entertaining nor interesting. But for the quality of song compositions and its rich presentation, the film lags behind in every aspect of filmmaking.
Except for the climax sequence which is well executed in Golkonda near Hyderabad, all the other fights look extremely ordinary.
Watch it you have the patience.
