Wait for the next season of Khatron Ke Khiladi instead, writes Namrata Thakker.
After acting, producing and directing films, Arbaaz Khan has added another feather to his cap by turning television host for the celebrity reality show Power Couple.
Joining Khan on his new journey is none other than his wife Malaika Arora Khan.
Power Couple is the Indian version of an Iranian show, and has 10 couples participating.
The couples have to perform tasks every week to prove how strong their love is and how compatible they are with each other.
Now this sounds like Khatron Ke Khiladi couples special, right?
Unfortunately, it is not.
It's not even close to being as entertaining as KKK.
Going by the opening episodes, Power Couple looks like a sad attempt at grabbing eyeballs.
Yes, the show is hosted by one of the best looking couples from Bollywood but that's about it.
There is nothing that's interesting or even new on the show. Haven't we seen the stunts, drama and love in shows like Splitsvilla, Nach Baliye and Khatron Ke Khiladi?
Apart from the tasks and love challenges, the couples are given something called Bharosa points. Yes, it really can't get any more filmi than that.
Every week, a couple has to invest certain Bharosa points. Depending on the performances, the couples will either gain or lose those points.
Frankly speaking, the whole pyaar and bharosa stuff would have worked in the favour of the power couples if the show didn't look so scripted.
The chemistry doesn't work even for the married couples like Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Saklani, and Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh.
The only enjoyable bit is when the couple are introduced.
The bike stunt in Sunday's episode looked interesting as well, but I've seen better stunts in Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Arbaaz Khan needs to learn a few tricks from his elder brother Salman, as far as hosting a reality show is concerned because singing a song and dancing for your wife isn't going to work every time!
Malaika, on the other hand, has a strong screen presence. She has judged many reality shows in the past. Surprisingly on Power Couple, she comes across only as eye candy, who blushes and giggles every time she is addressing the contestants.
Power Couple is really not worth a watch. Wait for the next season of Khatron Ke Khiladi instead.
