Readers' Review: War is a MUST WATCH

October 03, 2019 15:32 IST

Siddharth Anand's War -- starring Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor -- has been getting rave reviews from critics and audiences alike.

We asked readers to send in their reviews, and we got quite a few!

We present some of them here:

Ahwaan Padhee

Exquisitely shot, with incredible action sequences, Siddharth Anand's espionage drama War comes five years after the action bonanza Bang Bang from the YRF stable and marks their collaboration with Hrithik Roshan for the second time.

It also stars Tiger Shroff.

The fact that he's pitted against Hrithik raises the stakes to an ultimate high.

The plot follows Major Kabir Anand (Hrithik Roshan), an army official who has gone rogue and is on a killing spree of top bracket officials.

Lt Khalid (Tiger Shroff), who was once trained by Kabir, is appointed by the Colonel (Ashutosh Rana) to stop him.

While Khalid remains extremely intrigued as to why Kabir is doing all this, the narrative moves back and forth, shifts gears to multiple countries and forays into flashback mode to connect the dots.

The film plays out as a tightly-knit, layered and slick potboiler with twists and turns and conceals the big revelation at the end.

The action and the chase sequences are marvellous, especially Tiger's introductory action which is incredibly shot as a single sequence.

The punches and the kicks land hard.

Hrithik and Tiger's face-off and the ultimate hand-to-hand combat breathes fire and blazes the screen. T

he camera work is exquisite, capturing the gorgeous locales (Malta, Morrocco, Italy) as flatteringly as it caresses the biceps of the film's leading men.

Anand underplays the melodrama but there is an undercurrent of patriotism, sacrifice and martyrdom imminent in the film's dialogues (by Abbas Tyrewala).

Hrithik and Tiger look dashing. They are stars blessed with an impeccable physical prowess that reflects straight on screen.

Their granite bodies bear a terrific glint that overshadow Vaani Kapoor's svelte physicality.

In the film charged with testosterone, Vaani's character is reduced to a cameo but she leaves an impact.

Ashutosh Rana is single-note, fretting and fuming with despair.

War ticks all the components of a masala action entertainer, there's not a single dull moment.

If you are seeking a highly charged film, War is the destination for you.

I rate this 3.5 stars.

The movie is truly awesome.

It is an action-packed thriller shot in the various parts of the world. The action is fast and perfectly directed.

Hrithik Roshan simply rocks and looks awesome.

Tiger Shroff looks like his younger brother.

Vaani Kapoor has a very short role.

The movie keeps everyone connected, and keeps one guessing.

There are only two songs in it and both are good.

Instrumental music has been used at many places i.e. on fight sequences.

I rate this 4.5 stars.

War was up to the mark and it's a must watch.

If you want a movie to have twists, actions, chiseled bodies, humour, dance numbers and a good story, the movie will serve it all.
