Bigg Boss 9: Salman, SRK's dhamakedar comeback!

December 21, 2015 16:35 IST

Shah Rukh Khan and Salman KhanYou know that saying: You can love it; you can hate it; but you can't ignore it.

That was the reality for the Salman Khan-anchored show, Bigg Boss.

Each year, it has had its fair share of controversies, tamashas, romances, catfights, temper tantrums, prima donnas and, of course, the audience's complete attention.

The popular reality show's latest edition kicked off a little over two months ago.

With contestants like Prince Narula (the winner of MTV Roadies X2 and MTV Splitsvilla 8), Mandana Karimi (Iranian actress-model) and Rimi Sen (of Dhoom fame), the makers hoped to grab eyeballs this year as well.

Their mix of contestants, however, didn't seem to work and Bigg Boss 9 was soon dismissed as the most 'boring' season of all.

Salman did try to shake up the contestants, but they seemed content in their own little world.

Of course, the weekend episodes must have spiked up the show's TRPs, courtesy the charismatic Dabangg Khan and his celebrity guests who were promoting their films.

But this weekend was different!

It was BIGGER, BETTER and DHAMAKEDAAR in every sense of the word. After all, this weekend, Bigg Boss 9 did what many, many people have been trying to do for many, many years. It did what movie buffs were eagerly waiting for. It brought Karan-Arjun back together.

On Saturday, December 19, King Khan -- for the very first time -- graced the Bigg Boss stage with his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend Salman. The duo played a little game and revealed quite a few things about each other.

The episode ended thereafter, leaving me and I am sure the whole nation, wanting more. The warm camaraderie between the Khans was evident as they sat across each other for that five-minute game. It was just a teaser for what would be one helluva ride.

On Sunday, December 20, the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-stars greeted the audience once again and how! They made a grand entry on a bike, mouthed each other's iconic dialogues and thoroughly entertained the crowd with a dance off. If that wasn't enough, SRK and Salman then indulged a mime session of 'Guess Who?' It was hilarious, especially when Dilwale star had to guess Anil Kapoor's name.

And, of course, during all this naach-gaana and masti, Shah Rukh and the Sultan star took a humorous dig at the third star in their triumvirate, Aamir Khan. It won't be surprising if their 'Just For Laughs' gag becomes the next controversy.

The Great Big Comeback lived up to everyone's expectations and SRK's Dilwale co-star, Kajol, took the fun quotient a few notches higher.

Though Ajay Devgn's wifey was not to been in the episode's promos -- obviously, everyone wanted to milk the return of the Khan dosti! -- she did turn up on the reality show to promote Dilwale.

Kajol, who is as funny and witty as the Khans, stood out the moment she made her entry. She may not have worked with Salman lately, but clearly shares warm vibes with her Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya co-star.

It was an absolute delight to watch Shah Rukh and Salman together. The comfort and ease they share didn't go unnoticed, nor did their dostana. The two Khans are genuinely fond of each other and it showed throughout the episode.

Now, only if they come back on the big sceen as well!
