A scene from VettaiAfter the success of Tanu Weds Manu, R Madhavan is shooting for Lingusamy's Vettai in Karaikudi in Tamil Nadu.
Though the Lingusamy-Madhavan combo gave the actor one of his biggest hits in Tamil in Run, they have not worked together after that.

About the long gap, Madhavan said, "He didn't have any interesting scripts for me. He used to say, unless and until I have a good script for you, I will not offer you any film. Now that he has an interesting script, he has offered it to me."

Madhavan's co-star in Vettai is

his good friend Arya. "Arya has become a big success with all his films doing so well at the box office. He is a good friend and we used to talk about doing films together. Acting with Arya is exciting," says Madhavan.

Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul of Mynaa fame are the heroines.

Nirav Shah cranks the camera. Rajeevan is the art director while Antony is the editor. Nassar, the National award winner Thambi Ramaiah for his performance in Mynaa, and Rana play supporting roles in this commercial venture.

The film is also being made in Telugu, a first for Madhavan.
