Malayalam superstar Mohanlal who turned 55 on May 21 was holidaying in Japan.

He is in full of praise for the Japanese people and their attitude towards life.

In his latest blog he wrote: ‘I am fascinated by the energy of the Japanese and their zest for life. When we in Kerala go for hartals even when it doesn’t rain properly, people here are working harder on a day of strike.’

The superstar first visited the country 34 years ago, during the shooting of his film Iniyengilum.

Interesting Malayalam releases this weekend.

The release of the Nivin Pauly starrer Premam has been postponed, but two other films are being released this week.

Kumbasaaram, directed by Aneesh Anwar, is a thriller with Jayasurya and Honey Rose playing the lead.

Jayasurya, who is going through a rough patch in his career, hopes to bounce back with this one.

Swargathekkaal Sundaram, directed by Manoj Aravindakshan, has Sreenivasan, Lal, Mythily and Joy Mathew in the lead.

The film is scripted by Rajesh Raghavan and deals with topical issues.

C R No. 89 to get a theatrical release

Director Sudevan’s C R No. 89 made with public funding got a lot of critical acclaim and also won several awards  including the Kerala State award for best film.

Although there have been several screenings for the public organised by film buffs, it had been difficult for the producers to have a proper release.

But the film is finally going to be releasing in June.
