Which Malayalam movie will YOU watch this weekend?

A look at the week's releases.

It’s  going to be a crowded day at the theatres this weekend, with four new Malayalam films releasing: cinematographer-director Rajeev Ravi's Kammatipaadam, Jayaram’s Aadupuliyattam, Narain and Meghna Raj’s Hallelooya and Omar's Happy Wedding.

Here's a closer look at the movies.

 

Kammatipaadam

Dulquer Salmaan

Director: Rajeev Ravi
Cast: Dulquer Salmaan, Vinayakan

Rajeev Ravi is back after two much appreciated films, Annayum Rasoolum and Njan Steve Lopez. 

Dulquer Salmaan plays the lead in Kammatipaadam, which tracks the lives of a few people, over a period of time.

The salt and pepper look of Dulquer, which he sports at a certain point in the film, has already created some buzz.

P Balachandran is the scenarist.

Kammatipaadam is produced by Global United Media and Madhu Neelakantan is the cinematographer.


Aadupuliyattam

Aadupuliyattam

Director: Kannan Thamarakkulam
Cast: Jayaram, Remya Krishnan

Jayaram teams up with director Kannan Thamarakkulam once again, after Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare.

Aadupuliyattam has been announced as a horror-family thriller. Remya Krishnan and Om Puri also feature in it.

Sheelu Abraham plays Jayaram’s heroine.

 

Hallelooya

Hallelooya

Director: Sudhi Anna
Cast: Narain, Meghna Raj

Director Sudhi Anna’s Hallelooya is a walk down the memory lane.

Narain plays a psychiatrist named Roy, who visits his old school. There he meets his childhood friend Meera, played by Meghna Raj.

Produced under the banner of Barking Dogs Seldom Bite, Ragesh Narayanan is the cinematographer of Hallelooya.

 

Happy Wedding

Happy Wedding

Director: Omar
Cast: Siju Wilson, Soubin Shahir, Sharafuddeen

A few of the actors, who tickled the funny bone in Premam, team up for Omar’s Happy Wedding.

Siju Wilson plays Hari, who wants to have a love marriage. His escapades, along with some funny moments, makes the plot for this comedy.

Soubin Shahir, Sharafuddeen and Justin John and some fresh faces form the rest of the cast.
