When will we see Shah Rukh's Pathan?

Bollywood is ready with its line-up of theatre releases, but it remains to be seen if we will get to watch these movies in theatres this year.

Joginder Tuteja lists the big movie releases in a three-part special.

 

Pathan
Release date: To be announced

The big movies are all set to arrive in the last quarter of 2022, and Pathan leads the brigade.

Though there hasn't been any official announcement yet, it will probably be a Diwali release.

With Siddharth Anand calling the shots, this YRF film has just gotten bigger with Deepika Padukone as the leading lady and John Abraham as the villain.

Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in Zero four years ago, and Pathan seems to have all the ingredients to be his next blockbuster.

 

Tiger 3
Release date: To be announced

YRF's 'spy universe' continues with the Tiger franchise.

Salman Khan is currently shooting for his next big release, Tiger 3.

Also starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi, a part of the film was shot in Turkey.

 

OMG 2
Release date: To be announced

Ten years after Akshay Kumar was seen in OMG: Oh My God. which had Paresh Rawal as the central protagonist, the actor steps into the same Lord Krishna avatar with the film's sequel.

This time, Pankaj Tripathi leads the show.

Directed by Amit Raj, the shooting of the film has wrapped up.

 

Action Hero
Release date: To be announced

While Ayushmann Khurranna has been primarily seen in light-hearted roles, we've seen him get intense in Article 15.

With Action Hero, he will be seen in an altogether different avatar as he bulks up to get into an action image.

With Anirudh Iyer as the director, Action Hero is being billed by producers Aanand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar as 'a slick actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour'.

 

Ram Setu
Release date: October 24

The legend of Ram Setu has intrigued Indians for centuries now and the makers of this Akshay Kumar starrer aim to solve the mystery with this part-mythology-part adventure saga.

Vikram Malhotra, who produced Shakuntala Devi, Durgamati, Sherni and Chhorii , produces this film.

Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha are the leading ladies of this Diwali release.

 

Shehzada
Release date: November 4

Slated to be the biggest Kartik Aaryan film of 2022, Shehzada is an official remake of the Allu Arjun blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.

Shooting of this biggie has already started with the first major schedule completed in New Delhi.

Directed by Rohit Dhawan, the family entertainer reunites Kartik with his Luka Chuppi leading lady Kriti Sanon.

 

Yodha
Release date: November 11

A Karan Johar production, Yodha is yet another action entertainer from the house of Dharma Productions.

Sidharth Malhotra returns to his mentor after the success of their earlier film together,Shershaah.

Marking the debut of the director duo Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha, Yodha features Disha Patani in the lead along with newcomer Raashi Khanna.

 

Bhediya
Release date: November 25

Dinesh Vijan expands the 'horror universe' created by Maddock Films with Bhediya. Varun Dhawan attempts this genre for the first time.

He reportedly steps into a character of part man-part wolf in this tale directed by Amar Kaushik, who has already delivered a blockbuster in Stree.

While Kriti Sanon is the leading lady, Janhvi Kapoor and Flora Saini are said to be making cameos as Roohi and Stree respectively.

 

Ganapath - Part 1
Release date: December 23

One of the best promoted films in the recent times despite being a year away from release, Ganapath - Part 1 will see Tiger Shroff end the year on a high with yet another action entertainer, where he plays a boxer.

A film set in the future, this Vikas Bahl directed film is set to be rustic to the core.

Kriti Sanon is his leading lady, and it is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Jackky Bhagnani.

 

Merry Christmas
Release date: December 23

Merry Christmas is a story close to Director Sriram Raghavan's heart.

This will also be the first time that Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi come together.

It will be four years after 2018's Andhadhun that the director will be calling the shots.
