When Amjad Khan played a photographer

Did you know that Anees Bazmee, who has directed comedies like No Entry, Welcome, Welcome Back, Singh Is King and Ready, started his career as a child artist in 1976?

He started his directorial career assisting Raj Kapoor with Prem Rog in 1982, and turned director with 1995's Hulchul.

He has spent 43 years in the film industry and knows all its stories.

He tells us some here:

Anees Bazmee plays the young Shatrughan Sinha in Naseeb.

He captions this priceless picture: 'I have been fortunate enough to work with so many top actors & actresses over the years as both a writer & a director.

'Lekin kya aapko pata hai ki, main 'Naseeb' film main chhote Shatrughan Sinha ka role bhi kar chuka hoon?

'Here's a wonderful moment captured with the legendary Amjad Khan sahaab who coincidentally played a photographer in the film. Can you guess which one is me?'

Bazmee had also worked in Gulzaar's Kitaab as a child artist.

Suniel Shetty, Aishwarya Rai and Paresh Rawal were to star in Anees Bazmee's Radheshyam Sitaram but unfortunately, it got shelved.

'This picture was taken during the shooting of a film called Radheshyam Sitaram, which unfortunately never released due to some issues,' he posts.

'Yeh ek bohot hi khoobsoorat film banaayi thi jismain hero and heroine dono ka double role tha & I am sure agar yeh film release hoti toh aap sabko bohot pasand aati! PS - Don't miss the monkey in the frame.

'Kya aapko yaad hai ki yeh bandar aapne pehle kaunse movie main dekha tha?'

Bazmee has worked with Rajesh Khanna too!

'This moment will be etched in my memory forever. I had the privilege of working with the legendary Rajesh Khanna sahaab on the sets of the movie #Swarg,' he tells us.

'There was a huge haveli which we created at Filmistan studios for the movie. Khanna sahaab was extremely fond of me. We bonded alot during the shooting of the entire film & unke paas bohot saari baatein thi share karne ke liye jo mere career ke shuruat main bohot kaam aayi.

'His aura was so powerful that Davidji & I were mesmerized by his mere presence. He indeed was a real superstar. Blessed to be in the company of Kaka.'

Bazmee has assisted Raj Kapoor in Prem Rog.

'I was just 16-17 when I became an assistant director to the legendary Mr Raj Kapoor. Really miss his style & approach of making films! He had created a huge village set for Prem Rog, showcasing the scale and grandeur he was famous for.

'There were so many legends working on the this one like Rahul Rawail, Radhu Karmakar & Suresh ji... Can’t thank my stars enough that got a chance to work with such big names so early in my career.

After Prem Rog, Bazmee reunited with Rishi 10 years later in Bol Radha Bol.

'Anees" se lekar "Humara Anees" tak ka safar bohot hi yaadgar tha,' he writes fondly.
