What's ailing Sujoy Ghosh, Reema Kagti's upcoming films?

July 30, 2015 11:29 IST

If a recent trend is anything to go by, unceremonious walkouts from films seems to be the flavour of the season.

Four talented Bollywood directors find themselves in a casting fix following the departure of leading stars from their upcoming projects.

Vidya Balan, who rose to fame with Sujoy Ghosh's 2012 thriller Kahaani, , opted out of his next project titled Durga Rani Singh after agreeing to be a part of it.

The duo, who were reported to be very close during their Kahaani days, are reportedly no longer on talking terms.

Ghosh has left Durga Rani Singh on the backburner for now.

“I wouldn’t like to think that the casting problems have hurt my project. Every film has its own destiny. Durga Rani Singh will happen when it is destined to happen,” he says.

Raj Kumar Gupta is facing a similar crisis -- his film Section 84 finds itself without a heroine after Kareena Kapoor staged a walkout at the last minute.

“There is nothing I can say about my project at the moment,” he says.

Talaash helmer Reema Kagti didn’t know what hit her when Saif Ali Khan dropped out of her next film Mr Chaloo.

Then there are Raj Nidimoro and Krishna DK, who had signed Shahid Kapoor for Farzi.

But Kapoor decided to get married in the time he was supposed to shoot for the film and promised to do Farzi as soon as the wedding was over.

But now he goes straight to Vishal Bhardwaj’s Rangoon.

So what happens to this quartet and their respective films?
