Sonam Kapoor likes to mix and match movie genres but picks comedy as her favourite.
"I try to skip genres with every film," Sonam says. "My last couple of films have been Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, Veerey Di Wedding, Padman and Sanju. I am lucky enough for directors to think I can do a Neerja and a Zoya Factor."
The actor was at the trailer launch of her new film, The Zoya Factor.
Based on Anuja Chauhan's book of the same name, the film also features Malayalam star, Dulquer Salmaan.
So who broke the ice between them? Watch the video to find out!
In The Zoya Factor, Sonam's Zoya is extremely lucky for the Indian cricket team. Whenever she is present at a cricket match, the team she supports always wins.
Is she as lucky in real life?
Sonam reveals just how lucky she is for the men in the life, dad Anil Kapoor and husband Anand Ahuja, in this video.
"I think I do the best in comedy," Sonam says. "The audience thinks I do better in films like Raanjhanaa, Neerja.... but I enjoy doing comedy."
Does Sonam believe in destiny?
Well, she believes that life is like a bank balance.
Watch the video to know why.
"I have been brought up to think that it doesn't matter as long as the role is amazing. But there were a few, like Dhanush, Dulquer, Rajkummar and Ayushamann, who I have worked with in a couple of films. There are a lot of these men out there and they are all doing better than everybody else right now because they have realised that it's not about who's leading the film. It's about the film and what are you trying to say in it. That's progressive, incredible and these days that's what's working," Sonam says.
What kind of work does Dulquer want to do in Bollywood?
"I work in four industries (Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) but I want to figure my way out. I strongly believe in good cinema. I believe that I have a decent aesthetic understanding of cinema... I want to challenge myself in films," he replies.
Directed by Abhishek Sharma, The Zoya Factor is scheduled to release on September 20.
