The current situation is not conducive for film shoots to resume but once the pandemic recedes, one can well expect a resurgence in the film-making business.

Top directors are getting ready to put together some of their most ambitious films.

Joginder Tuteja tells us just what they are.

SS Rajamouli, RRR

Baahubali Director S S Rajamouli is all set to wrap his next big venture, RRR.

In the last few months, there has been a steady campaign for the pan-India film starring NTR Jr and Ram Charan in key roles with Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt joining in.

Whenever it releases, it's going to make a lot of noise at the box office.

When Shankar made Anniyan with Vikram, it was a solid hit.

Now, he is ready to make it in Hindi with Ranveer Singh.

The maverick made 2.0 last, and the Anniyan remake is going to be yet another big outing.

The film will go on the floors in mid-2022.

Rohit Shetty, Cirkus

Though Rohit Shetty has been patiently waiting for the release of his film Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar, he has been working steadily on Cirkus.

Based on the cult comedy Angoor, this film is led by Ranveer Singh in a double role along with Varun Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde.

Expect Rohit to bring on the laughs once again.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai Kathiawadi

Last year, around this time, just a few scenes were waiting to be shot for Gangubai Kathiawadi.

In the months gone by, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has almost completed the entire shoot with Alia Bhatt. Ajay Devgn stars in a cameo.

The film is being readied for a July release and if the pandemic situation improves, it might just arrive then.

Om Raut, Adipurush

Though he has made just one film, Om Raut is already seen as one of the brightest young directors around.

With the blockbuster success of Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, his stock has gone up. Raut is busy with Adipurush starring Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon and Sunny Singh.

This is as big as it gets.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal

From Arjun Reddy to Kabir Singh, it has been a meteoric rise for Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

No wonder, his Animal is being seen with a lot of curiosity.

Ranbir Kapoor stars with Anil Kapoor playing his father. Bobby Deol and Parineeti Chopra also feature in the film.

Neeraj Pandey, Special Ops 1.5

Aiyaary may not have worked, but the director of hits like MS Dhoni: The Untold Story and Baby hit a six with the Web series, Special Ops.

While one awaits the second season of the Kay Kay Menon show, Pandey is currently wrapping up the 1.5 version.

Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan

Mani Ratnam's Tamil film tells a tale that hasn't been unheard.

He reunites with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the period drama, and both director and actress are expected to make a big comeback.
