Video: Heard Karan Johar's Bhoot story?

February 04, 2020 16:55 IST

Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma have never really been friends. Their opinions about each other, in fact, had split over to social media quite a few times.

But everything seems to have been sorted out between them.

So when KJo asked RGV if he could borrow the title Bhoot (RGV's Bhoot starred Ajay Devgn and Urmila Matondkar and opened to brilliant reviews in 2003), the latter said okay in 'two seconds'!

"Bhoot was the correct title for this film but we didn't have it," Karan explains at the trailer launch of Bhoot: The Haunted Ship. "I thought at the maximum, I'd hear a no from him but let me call him. I was blown by his generosity. I called him and spoke to him and he was like, 'Yeah, take it and whatever paperwork you will need, just let me know.' He gave me the title in like, two seconds. I've been in this industry for 25 years but I haven't seen this kind of generosity before."

Bhoot: The Haunted Ship stars Vicky Kaushal, and is inspired from a true incident in 2011, when a ship came out of nowhere and docked at Mumbai's Juhu beach for a few days. It has been directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh.

Karan Johar shares a bhoot story from his real life, which took place on the sets of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in this video:
