Neha Devi Singh, the original Bhoomika from Star Plus' afternoon show, Saarthi, is back with a brand new sexy look a year after she quit the show, due to stress and monotony. The actress lost 14 kilos after going through a strict diet regime and workout.

So what exactly did Neha do during her year-long break? "Immediately after I left Saarthi, I went to New York and stayed with my brother for a month, though my initial plan was to stay there for just a week. After that, in July, we had a great family holiday in Europe. It is a nice feeling when you travel outside your country and get to know so many things. I find my trips extremely educative."

Neha is currently writing a script for a friend's film. "I can't disclose anything more than the fact that this is the third draft I am working on," she adds.

Cute Amrita Prakash, last seen in Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hain, had bid adieu to the small screen since she was not happy with the way her track was progressing. It seems she is seriously considering the big screen and acting in movies. If one is to go by Amrita, she has already signed two films -- one for Rajshri Productions (Ek Vivaah Aisi Bhi -- also starring Isha Koppikar and Sonu Sood).

"I play a girl called Sandhya, who is a college-going, trendy girl from a small town," says Amrita, who has already finished a long shoot in Bhopal and is waiting for the final schedule in Mumbai.

"Let me clarify that this film is not a sequel to Vivah. This is a completely different story and I am lucky to be part of this venture. They are extremely talented and systematic in their work and I could not deny the offer.

"The other film I am working for is called World of Fashion for Sanjay Khandelwal," says Amrita. World of Fashion includes a lot of newcomers and Amrita is playing an aspiring designer from a small town.

At the same time, Amrita is also appearing for her final year BCom exams from Mithi Bhai College in Mumbai.

It seems Hanif Hillal (Pooja Bedi's dance instructor-turned-beau) is struggling hard to create a new identity for himself and break the tag of being the man in the actress' life.

The guy from Pune is seriously learning hi-tech action stuff from famed stuntman Cheetah.

"Most people are not aware that I can climb buildings and do good action," Hanif says. "Right now, I'm concentrating on films.

"I am relieved that Pooja is back in my life," he adds, reffering to some differences that had cropped up in his relationship. "Yes, we had some problems but everything is fine now."

So is marriage on the cards? "Not really. I have to establish my career. Everything else will follow," Hanif replies. He is currently in discussion with a few filmmakers but doesn't want to reveal the details as yet.

Recently, Hanif shot for an ad with Kareena Kapoor where they promoted a soap brand. "It was a good experience for me to share the screen with Kareena. This is my first major ad," he says.
