It's Navratri time. Which means there will be special Navratri episodes telecast across most saas bahu soaps, each claiming to be the best. However, the producers of Baa Bahu Aur Baby seem to have gained brownie points for roping in Navratri queen Falguni Pathak for a guest role.
The entire cast of Baa Bahu Aur Baby will dance to Falguni's tunes in the courtyard of their home this Friday, September 22 at 9:30 pm, on Star Plus. Apparently, this will be the singer's debut on Indian television.
While on dandiya bashes, Balaji Telefilms is organising a huge party at a stadium in suburban Mumbai. All Balaji stars from its superhit shows (Mouni Roy and Pulkit Samrat being the star attractions) will be present. Chances are, by the time you read this, the promos will already be on air. So, if you want to dance with your favourite stars, head to the Andheri Sports Complex during Navratri.
Finally, the date has been announced. After a lot of hype and secrecy over the launch date of Nach Baliye 2, the official announcement has been made. The celebrity dance contest will premiere September 25, on Star One.
Though Nach Baliye 2 was announced before Jhalak Dikhlaja, it is being launched almost a month after Sony's answer to Star's dance show. The grapevine has many answers for the delay. First, Star wanted to judge the response to Jhalak Dikhlaja before coming up with a strategy. Secondly, they had problems selecting anchors, and have now zeroed in on last year's hosts, Shabbir Ahluwalia and Sangita Ghosh.
Star has also roped in almost all participant-couples from last year's Nach Baliye (except Parmet Sethi and Archana Puran Singh who are hosting Jhalak Dikhlaja) to be co-hosts of the show.
The death knell has been sounded for two serials that had mega launches a while ago India Calling and Pyaar Ke Do Naam Ek Radha Ek Shyaam.
While India Calling lost it's charm when the unique storyline of life in a call centre metamorphosed into a love story, Pyaar Ke Do Naam could never really attract viewers despite its theme of reincarnation. The grapevine suggests that both shows will go off-air next month.
While it will help India Calling's Manasi Parikh concentrate on her singing career -- she wants to take it up seriously -- Indraneil and Barkha may be left disappointed. Stories of them seeing each other are doing the rounds and working in the same serial, Pyaar Ke Do Naam, would have helped them work on their relationship as well!
It seems to be a good time for Moonmoon (Sampada in Kasautii Zindagi Kay). According to reports, she has bagged a plum role in Rishton Ki Dor. Moonmoon will be playing the ex-flame of Anuj Saxena in the serial. Interestingly, she had played Saxena's sister in Kkusum.
Best of luck, Moonmoon!
