Did that really just happen?
The 89th Annual Academy awards ended on a shocking note when the Best Picture was announced.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the crime classic, Bonnie & Clyde, it was great to see its legendary stars Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway put an appearance to commemorate the occasion as well as give the last award of the evening.
Which, by the way you don't get any prize for guessing, goes to La La Land. It's the 11th musical to win an Academy award.
Except IT IS NOT!
It was all a big slip-up as Warren Beatty read the wrong envelope!
Moonlight had won the Best Picture, not La La Land.
There was much confusion on stage, as the La La Land winners had to make way for Moonlight!
Host Jimmy Kimmel tried his best to salvage it: 'I knew I would screw this up. I promise I'll never come back.'
Meanwhile, the social media exploded with posts and reactions. A look at some of them:
Farah Khan: Saving the best moment for last! At least this doesn't happen in our award shows.. we just give to whoever is still there in audience.'
Karan Johar: Warren will want to BEAT someone! And Faye just faded away!
M Night Shyamalan: I wrote the ending of the academy awards 2017. @jimmykimmel we really got them!
