Love on the sets of Kabhie To Nazar Milao

July 19, 2006 14:48 IST

If you cannot get enough of television, grab your weekly TV buzz fix right here! Here's the goss from the industry.

It seems the lead pair of Kabhie To Nazar Milao -- Sudeepa Singh and Gagan Arya -- are keen on removing the thin line separating their real and reel life. True to the traditions of the glamour industry, they are claiming to be just good friends who fight a lot but have a number of common likes and dislikes. The grapevine, however, suggests they are being seen together at a number of places as a hot couple. Ask Gagan about this and he vehemently denies it. "How can anything happen so fast? We are just good friends."

Haven't we heard that before?

Actor-turned-singer-turned-actor Vikas Bhalla is an excited man these days. Not only has he completed his film Marigold, he is all set to launch his second album. With Sanjeev Srivastava scoring the music, Vikas is confident it will be a huge hit. Apparently, Vikas is so short of time that he does his riyaaz in the car while traveling from his house to the studio. So, the next time you hear a harmonium from the car next to you, chances are you are travelling next to Vikas Bhalla.

Sangita GhoshIt seems Sangita Ghosh has a new and 'different' fan. A secret agent on the sets of Virasaat tells us that, some time ago, a scene required a horse. All went well and the shot was completed, but the horse refused to move away. So interested was it in a shoot with the sultry siren that no one could make it move an inch. "The crew was trying it's best to take the horse away, but it refused to budge. As time was running out, we had to go ahead with the shot -- with the horse standing next to me, nibbling at my ears!" says a smiling Sangita, who likes animals from a distance.

Mini MathurAs if to prove that beauty and brains can go hand in hand, Mini Mathur, the VJ-turned-Indian Idol compere-turned actress, has won the jackpot in Star's new game show, Heart Beat. In fact, Mini is the first celebrity on the show to hit the jackpot and win Rs 20 lakh. The actress is  understandably overwhelmed. That Mini would win was not really a surprise, considering she is known to be a logical and cool-headed person. And Heart Beat is all about managing to keep your cool.

After being one of the most controversial and popular judges of Indian Idol, it seems Anu Malik will now get a taste of how it feels on the other side of the table! Anu's nephew and Daboo Malik's son, Armaan Malik, is now participating in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li'l Champs. In keeping with the family tradition, Armaan also seems to be way ahead of the rest when it comes to music. He is among the top 10 finalists and quite popular with the judges. Here's wishing you all the best, Armaan.

Navjot Singh Siddhu and his turbans are famous by now. Apart from his style of talking, what one definitely notices is the synergy of design of his ties and turbans. The tradition continued while he was judging The Great Indian Laughter Challenge on Star One. Any clue on who designs them? "I am my own designer," says Sidhu. "I first select my tie, then dye the turban according to the colour and design."

At the Kumkum partyIn the weird world of Bollywood, decades are covered in three hours, so it is not at all surprising that in the four years Kumkum has been on air, it has covered almost 25 years, if not more! To celebrate the fourth birthday of the Juhi Parmar-Hussain starrer, the cast and crew had a cake-cutting ceremony on the sets. The function was attended by, among others, Anurradha Prasad, Managing Director of BAG Films Ltd. In keeping with other soaps currently on air, Kumkum recently took a 20-year leap, introducing a host of new characters.

Television actors dutifully managed to pay their respect to the Mumbai blast victims. They too observed two minutes of silence from 6:25 pm to 6:27 pm on Tuesday, July 18. Says Ashish Kapoor, better known as Saloni's brother in Saat Phere, "I was on the sets of Saat Phere and the entire team expressed grief by discontinuing the shoot at 6:25 pm." Ditto for Vishal Watwani of Virasat fame, Pawan Shankar and Vaishnavi. Amit Verma from Khichdi, Hotel Kingston and Kittu Sab Janti Hai was at the gym observing the silence, while Monisha Katwani from Yes Boss cancelled her meeting and prayed for the victims at home.
