Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff celebrate 20 years of Border!

It's the film that's aired on television probably on every Independence Day and Republic Day.

And it remains one of the most memorable Indian war films.

Border, directed by J P Dutta, has completed 20 years since it released in 1997.

It's big star cast made sure to mark the event and celebrate it at St Regis hotel, Lower Parel, south Mumbai.

Suniel Shetty, who played Captain Bhairav Singh, catches up with Jackie Shroff, who saved the day in the film, as he played an Air Force Commander.

Puneet Issar, who played Rattan Singh, joined them.

Pooja Bhatt had played Akshaye Khanna's finacee Kamla in the film.

Interestingly, Akshaye had made his acting debut in the same year.

Suniel's daughter Athiya makes a fashionable appearance.

She will be seen in Mubarakan with Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Ileana D'Cruz. 

Abhishek Bachchan may not have been a part of Border but J P Dutta has a big part to play in his career.

The actor had been launched in Dutta's film Refugee in 2000.

 

Refugee had also introduced Randhir Kapoor's daughter Kareena Kapoor.

Incidentally, Dutta had assisted Randhir in his directorial venture Dharam Karam in 1975.

Kulbhushan Kharbanda played the cook Bhagiram, who becomes a martyr in Border.

Roop Kumar Rathod escorts wife Sonali.

Roop Kumar Rathod had sung the hugely popular song Sandese Aate Hain along with Sonu Nigam while Sonali sang Hindustan Hindustan with Shankar Mahadevan.

Alka Yagnik was the voice behind Humein Jab Se Mohabbat, co-sung by Sonu Nigam.
