Vineeth Sreenivasan was a singer before he became an actor. Some time later, he turned his attention to writing scripts and then made his debut as a director with the film, Malarvady Arts Club, which was well received.
His next directorial venture is Thattathin Marayathu, which has the interesting tagline, 'Ummachikkuttiye premicha Nairude kadha' which can roughly be translated as 'the story of a Nair who fell in love with a Muslim girl'. Produced by Sreenivasan's Lumiere Films, the shooting of Thattathin Marayathu has started in Thalassery.
Nivin Pauly, who was launched by Vineeth in Malarvady Arts Club, plays the lead in the film. Sunny Wayne, who won accolades for his role as Kurudi in Second Show is playing an important role in the film. The heroine is reportedly a fresh face. Jomon T John is the cinematographer and Shaan Rahman is the music director.
