Poda Podi is a romantic film set in London with Simbu alias STR, and Varalakshmy (Tamil actor Sarath Kumar's daughter), in the lead. It is directed by debutant Vignesh Sivan. The film is Varalakshmy's debut film.
The film has been in the making for some time and according
to the director this is because he wanted to capture two different seasons in London as the film traverses through three phases in a boy's and girl's life.
The music is by Thaman and camerawork by Duncan Telford from Hollywood. Perhaps tired of waiting for her debut film to see the light, Varalakshmy has signed her next film, a Telugu film with Naga Chaitanya to be directed by Radhamohan.
