Several Bollywood celebrities turned to Twitter to express their disappointment over Supreme Court’s verdict to criminalise gay sex. Here’s what they said:
Anushka Sharma: ‘So disappointed with the SC verdict. Freedom is such a deceptive term . Rights are an ambiguous mystery #scrap377’
Sudhir Mishra: ‘All d political parties need to state their stand on d decision declaring gay consensual sex illegal. The decision declaring gay consensual sex illegal betrays a primitive Victorian mind It is certainly not INDIAN. In fact anything that impinges on fundamental human rights or freedom of speech or implies d imposition of one set of beliefs is NOT INDIAN. Let me reiterate. Disappointed by Supreme Court’s verdict on homosexuality, Hollywood actress Mia Farrow has decided not to come to India anytime soon.
‘Very dark day for freedom and human rights as Indian Supreme Court rules to criminalize homosexuality. Canceled trip to India. My wife and I would not feel welcome there,’ the 68-year-old actress tweeted.
Farrow, who is an ex-wife of Frank Sinatra and Woody Allen, was soon flooded with queries. To which, she added: ‘Well- when I have a wife- we won't be going to India.’
Mia is also known for her extensive humanitarian work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.
Actress Bipasha Basu took to Twitter to support Sangram Singh who is currently inside the Bigg Boss house.
She tweeted, ‘The most deserving winner of biggboss 7 should be Sangram. Decent guy with no nonsense attitude.’
Justifying her choice, Basu added: ‘It's just my opinion. Like ppl to b a lil respectful by nature even under difficult and uncomfortable circumstances. So everybody is entitled to support someone in a game.Let the best person win:)’
Meanwhile, Sangram's girlfriend Payal Rohtagi is worried for him. ‘Couldnt sleep well last night. Was wondering how Sangram must be. Out in Cold, surviving eggs, kachra,etc. Kinda really mean na. What say?’ Payal tweeted.
Filmmaker Nila Madhab Panda, who made films like I Am Kalam and Jalpari - The Desert Mermaid, has started shooting for his next film Kaun Kitney Paani Mein in Orissa.
Actor Kunal Kapoor shared a picture from the sets and tweeted: ‘Long freezing night. Song and dance. Shooting in Odisha for Nila Madhab's 'kaun kitney paani mein'’
The film, also starring Gulshan Grover and Saurabh Shukla and deals around water access and sanitation issues.
Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is currently shooting for Bhootnath Returns, looks forward to spending time with his granddaughter Aaradhya every day after work.
‘A quiet relative day at work for 'Bhoothnath Returns' .. but the joy later being, the time available for the 'little one',’ the 71-year-old actor tweeted.
‘Stopped by on the road and bought some large balloons for Aaradhya ! Squeals and screams of excitement as they bounce about ! Ectasy,’ he added.
