Shah Rukh Khan will be back in the television serial Fauji, which hauled him to fame in the early days of his career. Fauji 2 will be produced by his company Red Chillies Entertainment.

"I will act in the first episode only," Shah Rukh said, as he addressed the media at his home, Mannat, on his 44th birthday on November 2.

SRK will play Abhimanyu, the same character that he played all those years ago. Abhimanyu will be killed, SRK explains, and that's how the serial will move on.

In Fauji 2, the lead will be played by Pulkit Samrat, best known as Lakshya Virani of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

So how does SRK feel at 44? "I feel much younger though I accept my age. I feel like I am 25 or 26 years old," Shah Rukh said. But he admitted, "But I look older when I don't sleep well."

Does he feel any competition from the younger stars of the industry? "I have my own status in the industry and I have made a deep impact on people's life in the field of entertainment."

The previous year hadn't been so good for the superstar, he added. "It was not good for me because of my IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders and an injury that put me down. But I got to spend time with my children and also write my autobiography (titled Twenty Years of a Decade).

"Also," he continued in jest, "I did not earn enough money. I will catch up on that later."

So what did wife Gauri gift him on his birthday? "As usual, Gauri did not give me anything. But my kids will gift me something by Sunday. My son -- he is so naughty -- he will probably give me a book. But my daughter is planning to give me a surprise gift."
