Indian filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, who has worked with Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth and Elizabeth: The Golden Age, is all praise for her work in Blue Jasmine.
‘Phew. Just saw Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. Even though I've done 2 films with her, I am still amazed at where she draws her prowess from,’ the 68-year-old filmmaker tweeted.
He compared Cate Blanchett with actress Seema Biswas from Bandit Queen and added: ‘Cant get over Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine. Not since Seema Biswas in Bandit Queen have I seen an actor bare her soul so fearlessly,’ he wrote.
Interestingly, Blue Jasmine did not see a release in India as filmmaker Woody Allen preferred to withdraw the film rather than comply with local rules for on-screen smoking.
