Mumbai's Royal Western India Turf Club saw a musical evening on Saturday.
One of Bollywood's leading composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy belted out some of their all-time hits and kept the audience well-entertained. The concert was arranged by Ashvin Gidwani Productions.
Shankar Mahadevan took to the mike while Loy Mendonsa worked his magic on the grand piano, and Ehsaan Noorani on the acoustic guitar. Their started off with the title song of Dil Chahta Hai, the soundtrack that made them famous.

Before singing the next song, the title song of Kal Ho Naa Ho, Shankar shared an interesting story of how it was created in barely 10-15 minutes in German Bakery, a popular hangout in Pune, which was later ravaged by a bomb blast.
When Javed Akhtar heard the tune, he loved its simplicity so much that he took 25 days to write the lyrics.
Shankar dedicated the song to the film's director Nikhil Advani, who was sitting in the audience.
After that, Shankar sang the title track of Rock on!!.

Singer Anusha Mani joined Shankar in the next song, Sajda, from the film My Name Is Khan after which Ehsaan played a six-minute piece on his guitar.
The other songs that the trio belted out were Mitwaa from Lagaan, the title track of Jhoom Baraba Jhoom, and Shankar's Breathless.
The evening ended with the National Award wininng song (for Best Choreography) Senorita from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Before the concert started, we caught Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy rehearsing their numbers as well. Shankar's nephew Soumil was also part of the band.
The celebrities who attended the concert were yesteryear actress Bindu and former cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar with wife Manali and son Nakul.
Shankar's wife Sangeeta was also present along with their sons Siddharth and Shivam.
