PIX: Rakhi Sawant joins new political party

The starlet had, earlier in May this year, jumped in the poll fray with her own party to contest in the 16th Lok Sabha polls.

Rakhi Sawant's political aspirations may have been temporarily quashed in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, but the starlet is far from disheartened.

Rakhi recently joined the Republican Party of India as a member.

Much like her fiery green garb on her poll campaign trail, Rakhi donned a bright blue kurta for her induction in the new party.

She is seen here greeting fans upon arrival.

This is reportedly the third party that Rakhi has, in her indomitable style, joined in a matter of a couple of months.

After she managed to secure only 1,995 votes from the Mumbai North-West parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha polls, she resigned from her own party.

She had launched the Rashtriya Aam Party after her plans to join the BJP were largely ignored by its leaders.
