Bollywood celebrated Mother's Day by posting pictures of their mothers and wishing them on Twitter.

Esha Deol shared a picture of herself with her glamorous mom Hema Malini and tweeted: 'Happy Mother's Day !!! @dreamgirlhema love u mamma. thank u for givin me this beautiful life !!!'

Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar got nostalgic as she shared an old family photograph and tweeted, 'Namaskar. Hum teen'o behenein, meena ke bacche Rachana aur yogesh,humari Maa ke saath.Tirupati Mandir me.'

Shabana Azmi recalled her fond memories and wrote: 'Mum treated my brother Baba n me equally. She has been quick to praise and to criticise but her support has always been unconditional. Thank u. A salute to my mother Shaukat Kaifi and to all mothers in the world. The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. Compassion and strength.'

Priyanka Chopra thanked her mother and tweeted: 'Happy Mother's Day mom.. U are all the strength I need.. Thank u for tirelessly handling everything @madhuchopra.'

Mahesh Bhatt to play a Buddist monk in Siddhartha

Mahesh Bhatt is all set to make his acting debut with the upcoming film Siddhartha.

The 64-year-old director will play a monk. He shared a picture from the sets and tweeted: 'Stepping into the frame of silence. Mukul Misra's Siddhartha.' 

Directed by debutant Mukul Mishra, the film will also star Shazahn Padamsee.

Sonakshi Sinha shows her Tevar

After completing the first shooting schedule of her film Lingaa with Superstar Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha has resumed shooting for her Hindi film Tevar.

She shared a picture from the sets (above) and tweeted: 'Time to show some TEVAR! Back to Wai, scorching sun, Arjun and Sona on the run!!'  

Directed by Amit Sharma, the action drama film is a remake of a 2003 Telugu film Okkadu. It will also star Arjun Kapoor and Manoj Bajpayee.

Sudhir Mishra returns to acting

Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who was last seen as an actor in the 2009 film Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi, will be acting in a short film. 

'Shooting for short film being made by my ex assistant Ashutosh n Taher ! Acting! Any flaw in my performance is strictly theirs! Ho ha ha ha!' he tweeted.

Mishra will be attending the Cannes Film Festival later this week. 'Going to Cannes this year just to c films n meet old friends! I love seeing d most obscure of films in the main auditorium,' he added.

Farhan Akhtar performs a havan

Farhan Akhtar and his business partner Ritesh Sidhwani recently performed a havan for their upcoming projects.

Ritesh Sidhwani tweeted: 'Just finished a Havan for Dil Dhadakne Do & #Bangistan, a ritual @FarOutAkhtar & me have been maintaining from Dil Chahta Hai.'

'#DilDhadakneDo Voyage begins this Saturday, will be posting lots of exciting stuff during this Journey, & we are releasing on 5th June 2015,' he added.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Dil Dhadakne Do will star Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Priyanka Chopra and Anil Kapoor.
