Filmmaker Nagesh Kukunoor’s next film Lakshmi is all to premiere at the 25th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival in California.
Confirming the news, Nagesh tweeted: ‘Great news! Lakshmi has been accepted to the Palm Springs International festival from jan 3 to 13th. Thrilled!!!’
The film, which is based on a true story, deals with human trafficking and child prostitution.
Starring Monali Thankur, Shefali Shah, and Ram Kapoor in lead roles, Lakshmi will release in January 2014.
