It's Dulquer vs Indrajith this weekend

Debutant director Visakh G S is ready with Masala Republic, a satirical entertainer on the ban of pan masala.

Indrajith plays Sub Inspector Shambhu, who has been appointed by the government as the head of an anti-gutka squad to implement the ban on pan masala.

Shambhu takes his assignment seriously and this leads to surprising reactions from all quarters.

Sunny Wayne, Vinay Forrt, Sreenath Bhasi and Aparna Nair are members of the cast.

Masala Republic is produced by Sukumar Thekkeppat under the banner of Chemmeen Cinemas.

The screenplay is by Arun George K David. Suresh Rajan is the cinematographer and Jassie Gift has composed the music.

Besides being the son of superstar Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan has made a mark on his own in Malayalam cinema.

His last two releases Pattam Pole and Salala Mobiles were not hits, but the young hero has an impressive fan following.

Now he is making an entry into Tamil cinema with Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, directed by Balaji Mohan of Kaadhalil Sodhuppavadhu Yeppadi fame.

The Malayalam version of the bilingual releases today and has been titled Samsaram Arogyathinu Haanikaram.

Nazriya Nazim plays Dulquer’s heroine in the film, which also marks the return of yesteryear heroine Madhoo (of Roja fame).
