Three Kannada films are set to release this Friday, December 8, across Karnataka. Interestingly, all the three films are directed by newcomers.
Advaita, which is supposed to be a three-year-old film, is Giriraj’s first film as a director.
Dyvare, directed by debutant and Yogaraj Bhat’s protégé Vijay who is popularly known by the name Gadda Viji, is also set for release.
The third release is titled B3 which is directed by yet another first-time director, Ghana Shyam.

The film is said to be a thriller in the pulp fiction genre. Says director Giriraj: “I grew up reading a lot of Kannada books that were based on pulp fiction. This film is an attempt to bring the same amount of thrill and viciousness into the narrative.
“Basically, the film has a multiple narrative which goes as if it is a story within a story.”
The male protagonist is a writer who has to fight against the odds stacked against him. “All the characters in the movie carry equal weight in terms of importance,” says Giriraj.
The film is shot in Chikmagalur, Bhatkal, Honnavara, Apsarakonda, Sodigadde and Bangalore.
Veer Samarth has composed the music and Kiran Sampapura is the cinematographer. N M Suresh is the producer.

The film is based on an incident in a jail. The director, a protégé of Yogaraj Bhat, says the film is an imaginative adaptation of a real life incident.
“The film is based on a real life incident that happened in a neighbouring state. It turns the spotlight on the personal lives of jail convicts and an incident that occurs in the jail,” says Viji.
Director Yogaraj Bhat has donned greasepaint for the first time and plays a jailor in the film. The film was shot in Bellary jail for 12 days.
Shweta Pandit of Bigg Boss fame appearas in a special dance number. The film has been shot in Bangalore, Mysore and Kanakapura.
The dialogues are by Yogaraj Bhat and director Viji. Guru Prashanth Rai is the cameraman and Veer Samarth has composed the music.

According to director Ghana Shyam, this romantic thriller revolves around a girl and her present and past boyfriends.
“The male protagonist is a jilted lover with a negative shade and it could be seen as a reflection of human relationships today,” says Ghana Shyam.
Director Ghana Shyam says the film is based on what could happen to anyone in real life.
The film has been shot in an old and dilapidated bungalow in Bangalore where chewing gum was once manufactured.
Ghana Shyam has directed the film and written the script. Muralidhar is the cinematographer and Anup Silin is the music director.
Ghana Shyam has also penned the dialogues along with his aide Manjunatha Rao. The film is produced by Basavaraj Manchaiah.
