Hrithik Roshan is one of the best dancers of his time. On his 40th birthday, we look at his best dance moves.
He’s 40 now, but don’t expect Hrithik Roshan to hang up his dancing shoes anytime soon.
Before he learnt to act, Roshan already owned the dance-floor.
We decided to take a look at our favourite Hrithik moves, but feel free to chime in with your picks, dear reader. Here’s our Hrithik top 10:
Fire, in Kites
One of the only good things about Kites was a dance competition where Hrithik and Kangna Ranaut burn up the floor.
Roshan’s character was a master of the salsa, and the superstar showed off some serious moves in the song.

Roshan, complete with top hat, did a dazzling job.
Krrazy 4 title song, in Krrazy 4
Image: Hrithik Roshan in Krrazy 4It’s a song that Roshan and family would like to forget, honestly, given that they ended up paying a heavy price for it.
But Hrithik and Shah Rukh Khan danced to different parts of the song and Roshan -- moving a scarlet hat in style -- outclassed the older superstar.
Dhoom Dhoom just take my life, in Dhoom 2

Dhoom 2 title song, in Dhoom 2

Positively bathed in screen presence, the superstar shone so bright the audience was mesmerised.
Dil Na Diya, in Krrish
Image: Hrithik Roshan in KrrishOne of the best actresses to shake a leg with Hrithik, Priyanka Chopra might not be able to match the fleet-footed star step for step, but does manage to reach his energy levels.
The two dance up a storm in this song from the first Krrish.
Main Aisa Kyon Hoon, in Lakshya
Image: Hrithik Roshan in LakshyaHrithik was the smoothest dancer among Bollywood’s leading men, but the bearded mover from the South was still the king.
Things changed when Prabhu Dheva himself choreographed this surreal song and Roshan stepped up to meet the challenge very fluidly indeed.
Idhar Chala, in Koi Mil Gaya
Image: Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta in Koi Mil GayaDancing is one thing, dancing in character is wholly another.
Hrithik’s differently-abled protagonist in Koi... Mil Gaya managed to be impressive while being consistent to the character.
You Are My Soniya, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham
Image: Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie GhamA lot of dancers can dance well by themselves, but songs like this prove Roshan’s good even when he isn’t going solo.
The chemistry between the actor and Kareena Kapoor is tantalising, aided by the song being a earworm that doesn’t quit.
Ik Pal Ka Jeena, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai
Image: Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Na Pyaar HaiHrithik-fever began with this song and it’s push-push step that continues to be mimicked to this day.
It was a clutterbreaking step, Roshan was smooth as silk, and girls across the country fainted.
What a start.
