The Kapoor and Bachchans -- Hindi film industry's two premiere families -- came close to sealing a new relationship when Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor got engaged on Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday in 2003.
While that relationship fell through soon after that, many don't know that Abhishek is still related to Karisma, and by extension, to her younger cousin Ranbir.

Abhishek's sister Shweta is married to Escorts Group head Nikhil Nanda.
Nikhil happens to be the son of (Rajan and) Ritu Nanda -- Raj Kapoor's daughter and hence, Karisma Kapoor and Ranbir's aunt.
