Here's wishing the lovely Shruti Haasan a very happy birthday!
Veteran actor-director Kamal Haasan's actress daughter Shruti Haasan, who turns 28 today, has come a long way ever since she made her acting debut with Soham Shah's Hindi film Luck.
Shruti, who started out as a singer -- her first singing credits came as early as at the age of six when she sang for Ilayaraja in her father's Thevar Magan, has also emerged as a fashion pro over the years.
Here then, is a look at the birthday girl's many fashionable avatars over the years!
All that glitters
At the South Filmfare awards of 2013, Shruti turned up the heat in a very sensuous Sailex number and kept her makeup, accessories subtle for maximum effect.

Promotional strategy

The actress nailed the desi look in this adorable Payal Singhal outfit during the promotional rounds of Ramaiyya Vastavaiya.
We are particularly feeling that hairdo and those intricate earrings on the stunner.
Goth chic

Early on in her career, Shruti had professed her love for all things black -- it comes with the (musical) territory, we reckon.
Several years later, her love for all things goth manifested in this little black dress and purple lips (total win) as she arrived for the Filmfare nominations bash last year.
Purple haze

The actress attended last year's Screen awards in a striking Amit GT gown.
That shade of purple did all kinds of wonders for her complexion.
Down by the beach

Cutout pro

Shruti worked a cutout Forever 21 gown at a recent event.
Can you tell those tassles are actually a necklace she's wearing?
Blue belle of the ball

She went high couture in a very stylish Gaurav Gupta creation for Screen awards, held recently.
The soft updo was teamed to perfection.
Of filmi appearances

While there were many blacks and sheer details at last year's Filmfare awards, Shruti took us by surprise with a radically new look in this Raakesh Agarvwal gown.
Proof that change isn't always bad.
Biker chick

Jumping on the sneaker-wedge bandwagon, the D-Day actress sported a studded pair for the screening of her film back in July last year.
Black for the night

At the launch of her new film Welcome Back, Shruti went back to her favourite colour with a body-hugging dress and peep-toe pumps.
Gold glam

The actress incorporated a whole lot of gold to go with her favourite colour for a previous edition of GQ awards with this red carpet-ready Rajat Tangri gown.
Ramp rollin

She was quite the ramp scorcher too, when she walked for fashion designer Manav Gangwani at a previous edition of HDIL Couture week.
Fun fact: That studded choli you see her in cost a cool Rs 1 crore. Why you ask? Because it was studded with diamonds! Yes.
Doing the anarkali

She also happens to be one of the few actresses in Bollywood today, who could pull off an anarkali without drowning in voluminous fabric.
Exotica

Shruti channels her ethereal side in Spain, while shooting for her Telugu film Race Gurram last year.
