The worldwide web's current viral favourite, the Ice Bucket Challenge has raised over $23 million and is going from strength to strength. Catch up with the Indian celebrities who have taken the challenge.

After the Ice Bucket Challenge went viral in the US, with celebrity names like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hiddleston, Britney Spears, and many, many others joining in, the challenge has finally arrived in India.

Aimed at raising awareness and money for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) research, a neuro-degenerative disorder also known as the Lou Gerig's disease, the person challenged is supposed to dump a bucket filled with water and ice cubes on their heads and film it.

They also need to respond within 24 hours of being tagged, and have to donate an amount (of their liking) towards ALS research.

Seen here is Ragini MMS 2 actress Sunny Leone, who took the challenge and tagged rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Riteish Deshmukh, who is currently shooting for his new film, Bangistan in Poland, was challenged by tennis star Sania Mirza.

He duly obliged, with a little help from his director Karan Anshuman and Director of Photography Szymon Lenkowski on the sets.

He further tagged Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Pulkit Samrat, Siddharth Malhotra and Aashish Choudhary.

While Akshay graciously accepted (on Twitter), Abhishek took it up almost immediately (click on the next slide to find out how it went!).

Abhishek Bachchan chose his own bathroom (presumably), and a kiddie bucket to carry out the challenge.

Before he rushed out of the bathtub, screaming, and asked the person who was shooting it to 'cut it', he tagged his father Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and the entire team of his new film Happy New Year.
