6 Things You DIDN'T Know about Zoya Akhtar, Rohit Shetty
Two successful filmmakers from different schools of filmmaking made an joint appearance on Koffee with Karan.
After receiving a ho-hum response from his audience for inviting guests from his roster of friends each season, Karan Johar has finally got the memo.
So while we saw people from outside of the chatty show host's social circle -- Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan to name a few -- there have been some interesting joint appearances this season.
While Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor remain our favourites, it was quite the telly moment to watch erstwhile rivals Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit get candid on the show.
The latest episode brought two successful filmmakers -- Zoya Akhtar and Rohit Shetty -- together.
I thought the episode was surprisingly sedate.
Which is not to say that the show was entirely without its moments.

1. The Zoya-Kareena dynamic
At one point, KJo revealed that Kareena Kapoor and Zoya have the most interesting dynamic he's seen.
Kareena and Zoya met for the first time at Shah Rukh Khan's home some years ago. Kareena asked Zoya if she thought Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge was the best love story ever made.
When Zoya disagreed, Kareena declared, with a sense of finality, 'If you don't like DDLJ, you'll never become a filmmaker!'
Zoya said she is not very fond of celluloid love stories, but her all-time favourite romantic film is Casablanca and she thinks Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a 'genius love story.'

2. The Vicky Donor wave
When asked in the rapid fire round to name a film she thought was overrated, Zoya picked the 2012 sleeper hit Vicky Donor.
'I don't want to be mean... but I thought Vicky Donor was a bit overrated. Like I heard so much about it and then I was a bit disappointed,' she said.
She confided that the song Badtameez Dil from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is getting on her nerves.
'It's playing everywhere. I've just come from Delhi from a wedding and I am done with it. And that Mane na, Mane na... I'm just like I don't want to hear it again,' she said.
Another song Zoya can't stand is Tooh from Gori Tere Pyar Mein.
Both films are produced by Karan Johar.

3. Tell-tail signs
Asked which movie celebrity she would like to tail, the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara director mentioned T-Series boss Bhushan Kumar.
She wouldn't tell Karan and Rohit why she wanted to shadow BK.

1. Rohit Shetty's go-to gossip source
If his movies don't do as well as expected on Friday (what the hell is 'as expected', Rohit? 1,000 crores?), Bollywood's biggest hit-maker revealed some of his contemporaries badmouth him and his movie.
Kareena, his leading lady in Singham 2, Rohit said later, is the primary source for all gossip.

2. The dreamboat director
Kareena, who made a brief appearance to croon about Rohit, said all the women on his film set drool over him more than they do over the hero.
'He's hot, he's tall, and has a great body,' Kareena declared.

3. The Ajay Devgn connection
Addressing rumours of a fallout between Rohit and his constant collaborator Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar asked the director to clear the air.
'I got my first break because of Ajay (Shetty's directorial debut was the 2003 action thriller Zameen, written by Rediff.com's very own Suparn Verma). That film didn't do well, but he stood by me.'
'Then we did Golmaal together... whatever I am today is because of him,' Rohit said, revealing that he has worked with Ajay for 22 years.
Appearing on the show, Ajay declared Rohit was family and pointedly spoke about film folk who had once sniggered about Rohit's cinema, but were queuing up to sign him now. Wonder who Ajay meant :))))
