Kajal AggarwalAfter her successful debut with Singham, Telugu film actress Kajal Aggarwal will be seen next in Neeraj Pandey's (of A Wednesday fame) second directorial venture Special Chabbis, opposite Akshay Kumar.

The shooting for the film commenced in New Delhi last week.

The film is Pandey's take on the infamous 1987 heist wherein a man posing as a CBI officer Mon Singh recruited 26 men and executed a raid on the Opera House branch of Tribhuvandas Bhimji Jewellers in broad daylight in Mumbai and disappeared with jewellery worth lakhs.

Kajal plays the fictional role of Mon Singh's love interest in the film.

A source reveals, "Kajal is the only female character in the film. Everyone, including Akshay, felt the film needed some glamour so a role was specially written for Kajal in the film."

Akshay, apparently, was keen
that Kajal come onboard. After his successful screen pairing with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, Akshay has been on the lookout for another prospective hit pairing.

Kajal, Akshay feels, could be  the girl with whom he can form a new hit jodi.

While Kajal remained unavailable for comments, a source close to the project informed us, "A lot of actors, including Ajay Devgn, was keen to get her to do a second film with him. But Kajal wanted to be adventurous and different.

"She had seen Neeraj Pandey's A Wednesday and loved it. More importantly, she knew she wanted to work with Akshay Kumar as much as he wanted to work with her. The charm of doing Special Chabbis is that she's the only female character in the film."

The film's producers Viacom 18 were also keen to bring the Singham girl in Special Chabbis. While Akshay and Kajal Aggarwal are set to join the shoot on March 1 in New Delhi, Anupam Kher and Jimmy Shergil started shooting on Thursday.
