July 19, 2005 20:07 IST

Saurabh ShuklaActor Saurab Shukla, who was in New Delhi to attend the 7th Festival of Asian Cinema, said the investigations launched by the Mumbai police against Salman Khan were unfair.

"There are thousands of people who claim they have links with the prime minister of India or his office in New Delhi but has the Delhi police launched a campaign against them? Have FIRs been registered against them? No, because their claims are not taken seriously. Why single out Salman Khan?" he asked.

He wanted to know if the so-called tape between Salman and Aishwarya Rai did exist, why didn't the lady complain?

"It is a strange case where the whole world is after him but the lady is keeping mum. When she is not complaining, why these investigations?" he wanted to know.

He, however, admitted that some film personalities do have links with the underworld. "I cannot say who has the links but this is a hard reality," he said.
