Radio jockey-turned-model Shiv Pandit is enjoying his new role -- hosting the Indian Premiere League on television.

"It's been four years since I came to Mumbai. How time flies," says the handsome actor, who was recently seen in the Sprite ad. "I worked as a radio jockey for two years and enjoyed every moment of it," he adds.

So how did he join the IPL team as a studio anchor? "I am a big cricket viewer and enthusiast," he answers. "My role is not that of a technical specialist. My role here is limited

to lightening up the conversation. Since everyone surrounding me is an expert of the game, I can get away with searching the Internet and watching matches very closely."

There is another reason that makes Shiv happy. Oscar Ravi Chandran, one of the biggest production houses in South India and producers of Kamal Haasan's Dasavatharam, has signed him as a hero for a romantic movie.

"After the IPL, I will start shooting for the film. I am learning Tamil now," he grins. "There is a saying in the industry that whoever starts his career with Ravi Chandran becomes a big star. I am hoping that it applies to me as well."
